James Bay Beachfront Apartment No.5

Apartment No.5 is a beachfront apartment at James Bay, in St James on the West Coast of Barbados. The plantation-style building, in pink and white timber and coral stone, was built in 1988 and holds two beachfront apartments of 1,730 sq ft each.

The design follows colonial lines, with jalousie shutters, limed timber panelling, coral-stone feature walls and full-length balustraded verandas. The apartment is furnished for beach life and has two air-conditioned double or twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The open-plan living space has a self-catering kitchen and dining area at one end and a lounge at the other.

Folding doors open onto a private shaded veranda overlooking lawned gardens, the white coral sand and the turquoise water of James Bay. The beach is good for swimming and snorkelling, and water sports are available right in front.

Services include a daily full-day maid, daily linen change (bed linen, towels and beach towels), a night watchman and a gardener. A cook can be arranged to prepare two meals a day, and so can babysitters. The apartments are close to Holetown and Speightstown, and a hire car is recommended.
