James Bay Beachfront Apartment No.4

This two-bedroom beachfront apartment is at James Bay on the West Coast of Barbados, in a plantation-style, pink and white timber and coral stone house built in 1988 and divided into two apartments of 1,730 sq. ft each.

The design follows the proportions of Raj-era officers' quarters, with jalousie shutters, limed timber panelling, coral-stone feature walls and full-length verandas with balustrades. The apartment is furnished with beach life in mind. Its two double/twin bedrooms are air-conditioned and en-suite. The open-plan living space has a well-equipped kitchen and dining area at one end and a lounge at the other.

Folding doors open onto a private shaded veranda that looks over lawned gardens to the white coral sand and turquoise water of James Bay. The beach is good for swimming and snorkelling, and watersports are available right in front of the property.

Services include a daily full-day maid, a daily change of bed linen, towels and beach towels, a night watchman and a gardener. A cook can be arranged to prepare two meals a day, and babysitters can also be arranged. Holetown and Speightstown are both close by, and a hire car is recommended.
